Il y a un an, j’ai décidé de reprendre la musique là où je l’avais laissé, c’est-à-dire il y a longtemps. De façon autodidacte, je m’y suis remise, mais j’ai finalement stagné. J’ai donc décidé de suivre des cours de flûte, en ligne, avec Étienne G. Il est un très bon pédagogue et très généreux. Il est très expérimenté et compétent. Il a été à l’écoute de mes besoins et m’a donné la poussée dans le dos pour continuer d’évoluer. Je vous le recommande.

J’avais le projet de débuter le chant à l’âge adulte, après avoir joué du piano durant mon enfance et mon adolescence. J’ai apprécié que les profils des professeurs soient bien explicites sur le site de MusiProf, car cela m’a permis de choisir une professeure qui correspondait à mes besoins. Je dois dire que je suis très heureuse de mon choix. Alice est une personne bienveillante, compétente et à l’écoute de l’élève. J’ai beaucoup apprécié mes cours de batterie chez Musiprof avec Josué. L’option de cours en ligne me convenait parfaitement . Le contact avec Josué était agréable et j’ai pu apprendre les bases pour jouer de la batterie étant donné que j’étais débutant.

My experience with Musiprof has been incredibly so far. My teacher started from the very beginning, and I’m improving more than I expected. Soon my piano knowledge will consolidate thanks to my teacher who I found in Musiprof. I highly recommend it, as it is the easiest way to find the best music teachers in one place.

I lost my motivation to learn guitar in 2022 after feeling I wasn’t making much progress and I didn’t play with it for 1 year. Last summer in 2023, I took a chance and contacted Musiprof and tried with Elijah.

It almost been 1 year since, I am still learning guitar with Elijah and I feel like I am making better progress. The studio he receives me for our class is close to where I live, so it is convenient for me. He is patient and understanding. When I don’t feel good, he takes few minutes to listen to me before we begin the class, so it helps me be cheer up and not be distracted. I also took interest in drumming, he takes few moments to show me and let me try.

I have been having fun with the classes and it been helping me distract from the stuff going on my personal life. I attended a small concert consisting of Musiprof students and they sounded great. I recommend Musiprof and Elijah Baker for anyone wanting to learning music.

It’s been six months since my daughter started at WIMA, and she’s totally loving it! Tyler S. is an amazing teacher who really knows how to connect with his students. He teaches with so much energy, and his classes are super fun and engaging.
The folks at the front desk are always so nice and welcoming. A big shout-out to Joel for putting together that awesome recital. It was so cool to see the kids shine like stars on stage. That kind of experience is huge for them, helping them shake off any stage fright. And Joel, your speech before the show was really touching—it definitely helped calm the nerves and boost the kids’ confidence.

Quand j’ai commencé les cours avec François, j’avais déjà essayé le banjo clawhammer, mais j’étais bloquée. Les vidéos sur YouTube ne suffisaient plus — j’avais besoin d’un vrai prof.

Dès les premières leçons, j’ai vu la différence : après quatre cours, je jouais déjà une chanson complète! François a une super oreille, et il sait expliquer clairement, sans mettre de pression.

Avec lui, je me sens à l’aise de faire des erreurs. Il est réaliste : il dit que ça prend du travail et que c’est normal d’avoir des hauts et des bas. Mais il sait motiver et guider avec justesse. C’est un prof généreux, honnête, et vraiment agréable.

I have been taking music theory and ear training class with Chooi since November 2024 and enjoy it so much! She possesses solid background and rich knowledge in the field of music, and is a super kind, patient teacher. She also tailors the courses to best suit the student’s needs. For example, I sing in a choir, and each year we have a Christmas concert. This year, the program had several difficult pieces which were out of my comfort zone. Knowing my worries, Chooi helped me practice the music intensively before the concert so I felt fully prepared and confident for the performance 🙂 I’m so thankful to have found Chooi’s class via the Music Academy and would definitely recommend it not only to someone who wants to learn the piano (which is Chooi’s main area of teaching), but also to anyone who is interested in improving their sight reading skills, knowledge of harmony/rhythm, etc.

TL;DR: I highly recommend Tristan—especially for adult learners of all levels!

I’ve been taking lessons with Tristan for a year now, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Right from the start, I was impressed by how responsive he was—he got back to me quickly after I submitted the contact form, which immediately made a great impression.

What drew me to his studio was the clear emphasis on building an adult piano community. Unlike other studios where I was often the only adult student, Tristan creates a space that’s welcoming, inclusive, and tailored specifically for adult learners. The adult-only recitals are such a unique and encouraging part of the experience. (The kiddos have their own!)

Scheduling lessons is flexible, which is a huge plus given my sometimes chaotic work weeks. Tristan’s teaching style is both clear and motivating—his techniques for building good habits and developing strong fundamentals made a noticeable difference for me within just a few weeks (as long as I practiced!). With him, I also built a huge confidence in public playing, as well as a general understanding of how to prepare for performances.

One of the things I’ve appreciated most is the chance to connect with other adult pianists around my age. Being able to hear each other’s progress and share music we’ve been working on adds so much joy and inspiration.

Each week, I genuinely look forward to my lesson. I always leave feeling encouraged, re-energized, and excited to keep making music. I personally plan to continue taking lessons with Tristan for as long as I can!

I’ve been going here for several years and I can confidently say that this is the best music institution I’ve been to. Tristan Lauber provides an organized program that is both fun and professional. Would highly recommend.

J’ai remporté plusieurs premiers prix lors de divers concours, tels que le concours Pierre-De Saurel et le concours de l’APMQ, avec des notes allant de 91 à 98%.

En juin 2022 : médaille d’or dans la catégorie des 15 ans et moins au concours international WPTA en Finlande, pour mon interprétation des cinq premières études de l’opus 10 de Chopin.

En fait, c’est grâce à une vidéo sur YouTube où à l’âge de 15 ans, j’ai enchaîné les 12 études opus 10 de Chopin, que j’ai eu l’honneur d’être personnellement invité par le pianiste Louis Lortie à participer à des cours de maître à l’Académie de Musique Wilhelm Kempff en Italie en juillet 2022.

J’ai remporté le deuxième prix dans la catégorie des 16 ans et moins au Concours de Musique du Canada, avec le premier mouvement du troisième concerto de Rachmaninov.

J’ai joué en solo au pre concert de l’orchestre métropolitain devant 2000 personnes en août 2023 et j’ai aussi participé à des concerts de bienfaisance visant à aider les orphelins en Ukraine.

If you are looking for a top notch piano teacher Tristan Lauber is the one. I took lessons as a child and adolescent, but stopped as I did not have the passion that I do now. I practiced on my own for a while but struggled a lot and felt the need for professional guidance. Last summer I decided to start lessons with Tristan Lauber. I have several physical conditions impacting my ability to play piano and on top of that I had serious performance anxiety my whole life. I was initially worried about whether or not, my teacher would be able to adapt to my complex issues. To my surprise, Tristan Lauber went above an beyond my expectations. First of all, he worked to understand my medical conditions and how it affects my piano playing. He focuses on finding effective ways to work around my conditions and adjusts the lesson plan as necessary. I have never met a teacher as fun, caring, accommodating and supportive as him. Thanks to him I am able to play pieces, I never thought I could play and advanced at a rate I could never have imagined. My technique has also improved from day one, thanks to him. He also does a lot of work around performance anxiety and provides methods and tricks to slowly overcome it. When I first started, I used to have full blown panic attacks during lessons that would affect my playing and anxiety that would build up the morning of. Now I have minimal to no anxiety and if it happens it rarely affects my playing. I even managed to perform at 2 soirées and his yearly concert that he hosts for adults. For the first time in my life, I felt calm during the performance and was fully able to immerse myself in the music.

Another amazing thing I love about his teaching is that he focuses on the strengths first before moving onto the points of improvement. He teaches me be proud of even the small accomplishments which helps keep me motivated. He also knows how to keep the lesson serious, yet fun and engaging at the same time.

His years of experience as a teacher and concert pianist and his passion and love for teaching really shows. If you do not have any piano experience, do not worry. He has extensive experience teaching complete beginners to really advanced students of all ages.

As a bonus, joining the academy gives you several opportunities to socialize with fellow pianists and perform if you feel up for it.

Finally, I also had the honour of hearing one of Tristan Lauber’s piano performances. The way he expressed the piece literally moved me to tears. It was a masterpiece. I highly recommended hearing him play if you have the chance. You won’t be disappointed and I guarantee it will inspire you to practice more.

During tough times when I feel like giving up on everything, it’s my lessons with Tristan Lauber keep me going. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for everything that he does for me. Though he might not know or realize it, he has gotten me through some very tough times and is a big reason I continue to persevere in life no matter the obstacle. I can’t recommend him enough. If ever Tristan is not available to take on new patients, he has a team of amazing piano teachers ready to guide you in your piano journey. The price is also very reasonable for the quality of lessons.

Simply put, Tristan is a wonderful teacher. On top of that, he has to be one of the most efficient people I’ve ever met. As it stands, he’s well on his way to becoming the don of a global piano empire and I’m convinced that had he not been sidetracked by the piano he’d probably be supreme overlord of the world by now. In all seriousness, Tristan is a very skilled pianist and a patient teacher, and one that I’d recommend to anyone wishing to pursue the piano. In addition to being able to help beginners and advanced students alike with their technique, Tristan can also help with solfege and theory as he was able to teach me enough of these fields to be accepted to a music cegep within just one month. Lastly, Tristan is able to provide the opportunity to play in a concert before a large audience at least once a year for those interested. All in all, Tristan is a terrific teacher and one that helped me enormously in my development as a pianist.

Jordanne is such a great teacher. She’s knowledgeable, patient, and approachable. Not only do lessons fly by, they work, and I see the progress. I would highly recommend!

I am not a perfect singer, not a professional singer but I am a singer. I love singing and music and singing makes me fearless.
I first wrote a review in November 2018, and I remain as steadfast in my admiration today as I was then. Singing and voice training are pursuits I believe everyone should embrace—it is like breathing in the crisp air of spring, filling your lungs with vitality, your heart with joy, and your mind with music. Melody and rhythm awaken the body, and the very act of learning to sing instils confidence and an undeniable sense of happiness.

The highlight of my week is undoubtedly my singing and piano lessons, and I can say with absolute conviction that you will adore your time with Jordanne Erichsen and Express Voice Studio. Much has changed since 2018. After exploring various vocal coaches, singing instructors, and music teachers that year, I struggled to find someone who truly understood my needs. As a professional speaker and guide, my voice is my livelihood, and after an intense season, I found myself suffering from vocal fatigue—speaking became painful, and I was in dire need of expert guidance.

It was then that I discovered Jordanne Erichsen, a remarkable teacher who immediately recognised what was required. With her expert instruction, working two to three times a week for four months, my voice not only recovered but flourished, growing stronger and more resilient. Jordanne is an exceptional singing teacher, vocal coach, speech instructor, and music educator. She is both encouraging and exacting, ensuring that her students receive precisely what they need to develop and improve.

Having taken singing lessons intermittently for many years, I decided to return to formal training alongside my vocal rehabilitation. Simultaneously, I resumed piano studies, which in turn refined my ability to read music, deepening my musical understanding. I meticulously recorded my progress, and the results were remarkable—my vocal range expanded significantly, and my speaking voice reached new levels of strength and clarity.

One particularly joyous milestone was in August 2019, when all of Jordanne’s students had the opportunity to perform—an experience that was nothing short of exhilarating. Other opportunities to sing also came up and I worked hard with a purpose and goals to sing on a stage once again. Always exciting. On another occasion we had an opera singer help us with our performances. I love pop opera and opera and I really enjoyed the in person workshop. I have always been an irrepressible singer, bursting into song anywhere and everywhere, regardless of who may be listening. Now, I treat myself to singing lessons once or twice a week—not merely to enhance my professional voice but to give myself a goal, a sense of purpose, and something to strive towards. People who sing are happy people. Singer also always encourage other singers.

When I first contacted Harmony Academy I was not sure if my daughter (3 year old at the time) is old enough to take lessons. 15 years ago I was a student here. Things may have changed since then.

I came here as a guitar student, when Mr. Patrick was teaching me. He was very nice and freindly and he had a good and relaxed attitude at the time.

The lessons came straight from the book, and I did not understand anything. I tried following his lessons and I tried learning through the book.

I spent my sessions learning with him and was I was having a hard time. I became impatient and frustrated. After the contract was over, I never went back.

So, the school was not for me.

Thanks to Mr. Patrick for being patient and kind with me during the lessons.

Today, I can say that I am deecent with the guitar. I am self-thought, although I need improvements and I am still learning through others and want to push myself to become better.

Feel sick with their sales skills when I got forced to purchase their textbook.
When I went to pick up my son today, I was told that the teacher started using a new book without asking any of the parents. she wrote my son’s name and put stickers on many pages. My son has only finished half of his last book.

We were going to switch to a RCM program, not only we are now stuck with another book, and also we were forced to pay for the book, not to mention the book is almost $6 more expensive than retail. They whited out the printed retail price and put sticker on top of it.
As a school, a teacher, an adult, they are setting a really bad example to the kids. Do not recommend.

Suriya, please stop lying! we actually liked the first teacher, we changed our class from 30 mins to 1 hour. i already told you the reason we switched the teacher, which was my son had registered a karate class, his fingers are stiff after an intensive karate lesson. and we only changed ONCE, NOT SEVERAL TEACHERS!!!!!! i DID NOT ask for “good spot”!!! i took what was available.
how you purchased the books, whether from US or elsewhere, and how much you paid for shipping, is not my business. i would appreciate a bit transparency and explanation before i swiped my credit card, not after i peeled off the sticker which covered a much lower price.
you might have amazing teachers, i don’t doubt it. however, how you treated your customers and their kids is just very unprofessional and untruthful!!!!

My kids have been taking lessons at this school for the better part of seven years (violin and piano), and we are very happy with the quality of the instruction. The teachers truly care about the children’s enthusiasm as well as their progress. Communication is easy, and interaction with all staff members I have known over the years has been very professional. Elena is an amazing piano teacher, gentle yet disciplined, and Julia has inspired my daughter to truly love playing the violin. Since the school is quite far from where we live, years ago we tried switching to a teacher who was closer to us in downtown Montreal. My kids’ interest and progress faltered, so we returned and have never looked back.

I’ve been taking lessons at Ecole Quebec Musique since before the current management and I’ve never had a problem getting a make-up lesson, whether the cancellation was by me or the school. My experience with the school may be a little different than most as I am an adult student who takes lessons because I know if I didn’t, I would stop playing. I’m never going to be a great musician, but my current teacher, Antonio, is very patient with me, and often helps me adapt pieces I like so that I can play them, while at the same time making sure the pieces we work on aren’t so easy that I’m no longer progressing.

I have been taking lessons for over a year now at the school and Julia and her staff have been amazing. Very attentive to our needs, very professionnel and extremely knowledgeable in regards to reading and playing music. Thank you for making a good violinist out of me!

Teachers are good, administration not so much. They never schedule a make class until you ask repeatedly. When new sessions start those make up balance vanishes

A great music school. They have a lot of teachers and very good hours, even for people who are very busy. My violin teacher is phenomenal and very talented! I have learned a lot and she is very patient with me. The secretary is also very friendly and helpful. She always greets me with a smile and helps to makes it a nice place to learn.

I have had a wonderful time learning at this school. I met a teacher that will forever be in my top 3 best teachers of all time. The whole experience is what I would define as balanced. You laugh when it’s time to laugh, you work when it’s time to work, so all around a wonderful time filled with learning and joy. There is a nice vibe and you feel welcomed from the moment you enter. I highly recommend sending your kids there or going there yourself you will not regret.

I started guitar lessons with Louie the director and it’s been going great. He’s a very patient teacher. He’s also funny, friendly, and has a lot of knowledge to share. Thanks to him I’m able to properly learn how to play the guitar. I would definitely recommend.

Excellent musique school individualized instruction nurtures both technical proficiency and creative expression. With online classes you can learn from every where in the world. It’s the ultimate destination for aspiring musicians. Highly recommended for those committed to reaching their musical potential.

Over the summer, I took one-on-one singing lessons with Louie. He really helped me develop a sense of what’s truly important not only as a singer but as a musician too highly recommend attending this school.

A great music academy. They make sure to tailor the sessions based on your level of experience and every lesson offers lots of invaluable knowledge. They’re super flexible and even offer online classes which I love. The teachers here are professional, love music & are passionate about teaching. They will often go out of their way to watch you grow & succeed. I highly recommend it to whoever is serious about learning music, whether it be an instrument or in production.

I feel that abelton has now become a tool of my expression and creativity with his guidance and have also gained confidence with my artist journey.
I highly recommend him for those who are just starting out as well as who are more advanced as he is a “ocean of knowledge”.
Along with this Atroxx is genuine and kind-hearted person who truly wants to see growth in his students.

My 7 yr-old son Elijah has been taking his guitar and drum lesson at the Cote St-Luc branch for 2 years now and he loves it!! The teachers are great and knowledgeable, the staff are wonderful and friendly, the place is warm and inviting. My son has definitely improved a lot, he will continue going to his lessons. WIMA by far has some of the best teachers in Montreal. They cater to kids and adults alike. The staff is always very welcoming and the teachers truly know how to create the lesson plan for each individual student. Both my son and I take lessons and we couldn’t be happier! 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking to learn an instrument or brush up on their skills.

Our experience at WIMA has been really fantastic. My kids have had three different teachers, and each one has been really knowledgeable, genuine, flexible and encouraging. My kids love going to WIMA… so much so that one of my daughters has foregone all other extracurricular activities so that she can have two lessons a week, voice and guitar. The administration side has also been great, and Aliya at the front desk is a gem.

We have been die-hard WIMA fans for years. The entire WIMA community of teachers and staff make it their mission to support all students, encourage them and bring out the best in each and every one of them. Their customer service is second to none. They are approachable and flexible.
Simone is a phenomenally gifted teacher. She inspires her students and gets them excited for each lesson. I have seen the incredible growth in my children in terms of their music education and abilities, and it is thanks to this incredible music school.

My son loves WIMA, and his music teacher, Grace. She is very encouraging and instils confidence. The school is very well managed. There’s always a kind voice who answers the phone and at the times that I need to send e-mail messages, I receive a response quickly.

Outstanding drum and voice classes! I have 2 children at WIMA. My son started drum lessons at WIMA at the age of 8. After 3 years, his comfort and skill amaze me! His brother started voice lessons at the age of 6. 2 years later, his vocal range has increased dramatically! I love that WIMA uses current songs which really keep the children interested. They are encouraged to explore different styles of music and to find a piece they enjoy within each genre. The children have a recital at the end of each session. It is actually a joy to attend the recitals. The level of talent (and the skill of the teachers!) Amazes me every time. All the teachers are talented musicians in the their own right. They live and breathe music and it shows 🙂 check out their YouTube channel!
