My son absolutely loved his Saturday morning drum lessons here! The schedule was perfect for our family 🙂 easy to fit into our weekend routine, and the location just off Wellington made it even better, with nearby coffee shops and small businesses to enjoy while waiting. The instructors (Anton and Phil) were patient, encouraging, and made learning drums fun and engaging for our young year old son. Highly recommend this school to any family looking for a great music experience for their child!

Been taking weekly lessons here with Fernando since late February 2025, and the experience and learning has been fantastic, at 30 years old from my first day not knowing how to hold sticks to being able to now play multiple styles, beats, grooves, songs, with confidence in not even 6 months is amazing. The feedback and tailored one on one sessions really helped focus on the things I'm struggling with and also explore the things I'm interested in on a weekly basis and I really love how the pace of learning is tuned to how I'm doing allowing classes to change in a free flowing nature week to week. Really happy I started learning with Fernando and Brandon and looking forward to see where I am in a few years of hard work! thanks again guys!

This is one of the best musical learning experiences I’ve had! Studio Drum is a fantastic school - not only are they responsive and attentive, they are incredibly patient when it comes to logistics! Brandon is a fun, engaging, and structured teacher. He plans the lessons extremely well and he makes sure students feel heard and have a great time. He truly wants everyone to feel welcome no matter their background! I couldn’t recommend this studio more!

Studio Drum MTL is the best drum school out there! Have been taking classes with Nick and he’s an amazing instructor! He knows what to make the student do at right time so that student can get better! He shows tips and tricks also which is a bonus! Super patient with us and very kind! Great instructor and drummer! Highly recommend! Also group classes with Brandon is super fun! It’s a must try if someone wants to get into drumming!

It's been 1.5 months since I've been taking two classes a week, one with Brandon and one with Fernando, and it's been fantastic. Two different teachers, two different styles, and it's so refreshing and challenging to adapt as a beginner to these styles. Obviously, the first lesson with Brandon and Fernando was a little slow because the two teachers needed to teach me the basics like holding sticks, naming the kit, assess what my level was (which was zero), and then they started an adaptive course of teaching as we went on. Now I can play metronome, money beat, independence beat, drum fills, and a lot of rudiments as well. The puzzles, team improvisation, playing to our favorite songs at the end of each lesson, and homework tricks to practice even without drums have been awesome. Personally, I love the institute, always felt welcome, included, and comfortable.

My son has been playing drums at Studio Drum MTL for almost two years. His dedication and perseverance in his drumming practice constantly amaze me. Despite my initial concerns about starting this musical practice adventure/mom-son power struggle journey, it has turned out to be an enjoyable and rewarding experience to become a "drum-ma". Thank you Studio MTL, Brandon Goodwin, and our cool and engaging drum teacher Mathew Higden Mat is an exceptional drum teacher who understands how to bring out the best in his students. He has a keen eye for details. For example, he can always quickly observe my son's strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. Mat will then adjust his teaching methods to fit my son's needs and interests. Mat's ability to differentiate instruction ensures that every lesson is both challenging and enjoyable. He always creates a positive learning environment where my son feels supported and motivated. We highly recommend Mat for all aspiring drummers, especially young ones like my son!
