I have gone to the Montreal Fluency Center on several occasions both to receive services (Speech therapy and support to improve better school performance), as well as to do a language evaluation of one of my children. On each of those occasions I received a very professional and friendly service from all the professionals, I really see a genuine interest in helping to develop my children's potential and accommodating us according to their circumstances. I would not hesitate to request their services again.

The Montreal Fluency Centre evaluates children and provides services for pay at the same time - not an impartial body - conflict of interest . Not the right place to evaluate your child if you do not want to regret like I did. Even if it takes long, do the evaluation at an independent Hospital such as Sainte Justin or University Hospital at Glenn Site where you can get service from real top experts with PhD titles. Before we did an evaluation with Fluency Centre in 2020, my child was in regular school for around 10 years and with one damning evaluation by Fluency Centre (we paid over 1000$ out of pocket) done in one session, my child was sent to special needs school by the English Montreal School Board. Once a report produced, even if you are willing to pay and would like to get a second evaluation, you had to wait for 2 years in Quebec province to do a similar evaluation and until then your child is stuck with special needs school. Before the special needs school, my child had friends from his school and was very cheerful person, but with special needs school, he did not get any friends and did not learn anything new in Math- my child was relatively good in Math. After staying 2 years with the special needs school, he lost his nerves and ended up in emergency and we are still dealing with after effects, he is being treated last 6 months. After 2 years of waiting, recently we got an evaluation from Sainte Justin by a top expert and the evaluation says, my child's disability is mild compared to the evaluation done by Fluency Centre, saying my child had medium disability. However, I could not get my child into regular school anymore - the English Montreal School Board is not allowing that to happen even with the new evaluation from Sainte Justine - it did not matter- the English Montreal School Board did not change their decision. Only option I have now to bring my child into Adult education system. An unprofessional evaluation can ruin your child's future and I hope you do not go through what I have experienced. I am sure you love your child, then bring your child to a better place for evaluation and then if your child needs service, you may bring your child to a better place such as Miriam Home and Services. If you could not get into, then you could go to Fluency Centre for some services by paying out from your pocket if the service was deemed necessary by the experts of good hospitals.

Our son had his SLP assessment just recently. We loved our experience! Kaylee was kind, caring, and made the assessment fun. We feel like we received the info we needed, and had all our questions answered.

Started our assessment in September. Paid in full in September. It is February and we still did not receive the report. Our daughter will have made it through almost the whole school year without benefiting from anything that report might suggest. Totally unprofessional. I've had to follow up every time. Please find another place. It is not worth it. Would of given this 0 stars.
