I took the beginners sewing class with Taut. It was supposed to be a fun experience especially as a beginners class. Definitely not worth the price. Very stressful environment for absolutely no reason. I don't think he was professional and I thought he was a bit of a bully (shaming me for my cutting skills). He didn't really explain anything and basically just told us what to do or took over the project without giving any details. I was nervous to ask questions because of the snarky remarks and it just created a hostile environment.

J'ai suivi le cours de couture pour débutant avec Shila et j'ai adoré! Shila est une excellente prof, très patiente. J'ai appris beaucoup grace au cours et je me sens beaucoup plus confiante pour mes prochains projets. Les locaux sont aussi très bien équipé.

Great environment for learning with everything you need at hand! Tauts is a great teacher, very patient and full of great tips. If you already know the basics, I highly recommend the three hour sessions where you work on your own project and learn lots of new skills and meet others who are working on cool projects as well.

J’ai pris le cour de couture débutant avec Shila et ce professeur est extraordinaire ! Elle prend tout le temps qu’il faut pour bien nous expliquer. J’ai réussi à réaliser un projet que je voulais faire depuis longtemps mieux que je l’imaginais. Merci Shila

J'adore. Pour apprendre à coudre ou se perfectionner dans une ambiance conviviale, c'est la place. Comme ce sont des groupes de 5 personnes maximum, les professeurs sont toujours disponibles pour répondre à toutes nos questions avec gentillesse et nous donner de précieux conseils. On gagne en confiance à chaque cours et à chaque étape de notre projet. Beaucoup de formations sur différents sujets et pour tous les niveaux. C'est vraiment super.

J’ai adoré mes cours de couture pour débutants et je songe à en suivre d’autres. On apprend tout en s’amusant et on ne voit pas le temps passer. Notre prof Roxanne était d’une patience et d’une gentillesse inouïes. Je recommande sans hésiter!

I had mixed experiences while taking an introductory sewing class at La Fabrique Éthique, the English session with Tauts. The class felt very different each time, it all depended on the teacher's mood and would vary significantly from class-to-class. Being that it was a beginner class, he was clearly upset when he would have to repeat something in between sessions when he was in a bad mood but would happily answer questions when he was in a good mood. This was noticeable in the other student's reactions to his mood as well. The class felt a bit rushed for a beginner class, I am now taking a 10 days introductory class elsewhere and I find they are going into more details on the foundations which I have found very helpful.
