I absolutely loved this shirt-making sewing class! Shirley was an incredible teacher, so patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging every step of the way. She made what seemed complicated feel approachable and fun. I learned so many useful techniques and actually left with a shirt I’m proud of! Highly recommend this class to anyone wanting to improve their sewing skills or try something new.

My fiance Alex and I started some private classes with Shirley in order to sew a blazer. Shirley has helped us so much, given us great tips and taught us a lot of things! We absolutely loved our classes and recommend them to anyone who wants to sew (beginner to advanced)!

Learning with Shirley at Jaunaii Studio was such a joy❣️ She’s not only incredibly skilled, but also so warm, empowering, and genuinely caring . You can really feel how much she wants you to succeed, and it makes every class inspiring and fun. I left each session feeling more confident, creative, and excited about sewing. I took the Sewing 1 class and liked how it was structured. Unlike sewing classes I've taken elsewhere where you jump into a project while trying to figure out the foundational skills, this studio structured the classes so that learning was conducive for building a foundation. We learned how to thread an industrial machine, learned different seam styles, learned the techniques for sewing two different zipper styles, learned how to sew a collar, and with these foundational techniques, we then sewed a tote bag. The atmosphere at the studio is light and friendly that welcomes and invites creativity and learning.

I absolutely loved my sewing class experience with Shirley at Jaunaii Studio. This studio offers high value and unique sewing experiences that are difficult to find elsewhere. The private class format that I opted for presents both scheduling flexibility and creative freedom that allows one to learn based on individual needs. Shirley the instructor is intensely knowledgeable and effective in her instruction. I learned so much more than I expected going into a single class. Shirley expertly creates an inviting and cozy atmosphere in her studio where sewing becomes an enjoyable act of creation instead of a tedious task. As I am a beginner sewer, Shirley took her time to explain the very basics to me. By the end of the lesson I managed to create a bodice block set to my exact measurements and even sewed a muslin draft to match; I honestly couldn’t be happier with the results. I’m so glad to have found this studio and I’m grateful to have had the chance to take a class with an instructor as proficient as Shirley. This place is definitely a gem; if you want to get into or improve your sewing, I would recommend this studio tucked right in the downtown Montreal area.

I had such a wonderful time in the beginner sewing class! The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, collaborative, and filled with positive energy. Shirley was INCREDIBLE; so kind and patient, always encouraging me along the way! Cher was also wonderful and made the experience even more special! Siobhan was really helpful, which made everything feel easy and fun. I left feeling truly inspired and excited to keep sewing. Thank you all so much! Highly recommend!

Truly amazing class to learn a new skill and even multiple!! The teacher Shirley is just so great and kind, she has the answer to all your questions. After only 2 classes as someone who has never tried sewing before I already know so much more! This is the place to go if you’re looking to learn how to sew quickly and efficiently with great conversation and connection. I had a blast and now I’m hooked ! 5 STARS on EVERYTHING!
