Πολύ οργανωμένο μουσείο,με ενδιαφέρον. Πολύ μικρή,όμως,ιστορία σε σχέση με άλλους πολιτισμούς!

Wonderful place to see Montreal History in brief. Old insurance building still stand below. Great movie to start with. Then so many different sections from A to E. I enjoyed the play section and the view from the top floor. Very informative and bistro available until 3.30 I think. Definitely visit again.

꽤 여러 국가의 로컬 히스토리를 다루는 박물관을 다녀봤는데 이 박물관은 단연 첫 손에 꼽을만한 전시를 자랑하는 곳입니다. 몇 가지 포인트를 짚어보자면, - 실제 고고학 발굴 현장 위에 박물관이 건설되었다는 점이 흥미롭습니다. 의도적으로 전시관과 과거의 흔적을 겹쳐서 보여주고 생활사를 설명하는 방식이 돋보입니다. 식민지 시대의 수로를 걷게 해주고, 유리 형태의 바닥으로 전시관 아래에 발굴 현장을 보여주면서 당대의 건물과 몬트리올의 발전-변화를 함께 보여주는 방식도 인상적이었습니다. - 처음 보여주는 홍보 영상은 물론이고 전시 전반에서 몬트리올 공동체에 기여한 다양한 소수 집단의 역할을 사려깊게 짚고 넘어가는 태도가 돋보입니다. - 현재 진행중인 중세 기사와 갑옷에 대한 특별전시 퀄리티가 상당합니다. 이탈리아 쪽 컬렉션 가운데 절반 정도를 대여해서 전시를 구성했다는데, 전시품의 상태도 매우 좋고 갑옷 외에도 다양한 중세 문화에 대한 유물이 전시되어 있습니다. 체험형 컨텐츠들도 굉장히 우수한 형태로 구성되어 있으니 2025년 10월까지 몬트리올 들를 일이 있다면 꼭 특별전이라도 방문하시길 바랍니다.

This is an amazing experience. Our tour host Céline took us on an amazing historical adventure. We gained a deep understanding of the rich cultures and history that took place here. They’ve done such a great job of preserving this important landmark. Bravo!

A Must-Visit for History Lovers! Pointe-à-Callière is hands-down one of the best museums in Montreal, offering a fascinating deep dive into the city’s rich history—from its Indigenous roots to its colonial past and beyond. The museum is built on the very site where Montreal was founded, and you can actually walk through archaeological ruins beneath the building. Walking through the original foundations of Old Montreal feels like stepping back in time. Engaging displays and interactive elements make history come alive. There’s always something new and interesting, whether it’s about pirates, ancient civilizations, or Montreal’s cultural evolution. Don’t miss the observatory for a great panoramic view of the Old Port. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the museum’s layout is easy to navigate - it’s perfect for adults and kids alike.

visited the time limited witch exhibition and it was awesome. the whole museum has a very historic and serene atmosphere to it, it's ideal for a cozy place to spend a few hours in to soak in the history of the city. the place is also very accommodating and the staff is super kind

I love this Museum, it has interesting exhibitions and conferences every year, and the multimedia theater is modern, stylish and floating above the archeological site. If you are a local I suggest getting the membership card to have a quick access to the Museum. If you want a nice view to old port go to the Belvedere using the elevators near the billetterie.
