Atelier Forma (St-Laurent)

I took the 4 week class here in 2024 and then came back for the 6 week wheel throwing class this year and absolutely loved it! The teachers are all kind, knowledgeable and make things fun while you learn. I love the different class levels so I felt comfortable as a beginner, but feel confident becoming a member now. Highly recommend for all classes and memberships!

One day, I walked by Atelier Forma on Saint-Laurent, saw all the striking pottery in their window, and thought, "What if I make all my own bowls, plates, and mugs?" I've now taken a couple wheel-throwing classes and a hand-building workshop, made a dozen or so pieces, and suddenly, clay is now a big part of my life. The team at Atelier Forma makes pottery accessible and fun, and they're always at the ready to offer a tip for improving a piece (or even to step in and save it, now and then). I'm still probably at the level that would impress my mom and no one else, but I intend to keep going back, getting more practice, and gradually replacing all my bowls, plates, and mugs with pieces I made with my own hands (and sometimes with the help of a teacher's hand, too...).

The best experience ever! The atmosphere in studio is so cool, and you can enjoy in every class there with teachers who are very good in their job. Recommend it to everyone who is in Montreal to try their creativity in clay.

I've taken two sets of the 6 week ceramic classes with instructor, Virginia, and its been an amazing experience. Classes are both in English and French, which was very helpful as I only speak English currently. Additionally, Virginia has always been pleasant and friendly with all my questions. Her instructions are easy to understand and honestly just a fun person to be around. I would definitely book here with her and I will be coming back for more classes!

Super ambiance et design chaleureux, avec une belle touche de verdure et de bois qui crée une atmosphère apaisante ! Nous avons choisi cet atelier pour célébrer nos 5 ans de relation, et c’était une expérience parfaite pour se déconnecter du quotidien et lâcher prise. Une activité créative et immersive que je recommande vivement !

J’ai débuté mon expérience en poterie à l’atelier Forma et j’adore! Le studio est super pratique et très bien géré. La taille des groupes est raisonnable et les plages horaires de pratique open studio s’adaptent facilement aux différents horaires et préférences. Grande variété d’argile, d’outils et de glaze disponible. Les gens qui y travaillent sont adorables et l’ambiance est agréable et conviviale.
