Université McGill - École de musique Schulich

Audition day in 2024 was really kind of terrible. my kid was accepted but there seemed to be no community, and kiddo ended up deciding not to go mostly bc that visit was really lacking. No tours, no info session, nothing involving gathering the students that made the school seem welcoming. It was really odd compared to what every single other school we visited did. Just wanted to post this so maybe there can be some changes made for future students visiting your campus. There were a few red flags about the professor as well that contributed…but the majority of the decision was the visit was not good.

Terrible school. Practice room pianos are never tuned, random people coming in to practice without keycards, lights at certain locations doesn't work, building is under construction, professors are rude and borderline uncaring to students. Avoid this music school at all costs, better study at better options in other cities in Canada or in the US. School does not live up to McGill's reputation whatsoever.

Amazing acoustics that can easily make a painfully piercing, loud piccolo actually sound good for once!

Went here for a friend's concert and it was a good experience. Watch out for the step at the front door though it is easy to miss and I tripped and almost fell. Especially if you have a non-Quebec health card could be a pricey hospital visit.

The architecture of this building is impressive. McGill's music program is legendary.

Unfortunately, we had a bad expirience at these shool with assigned piano teacher Perri Lo. Really don't understand why these kind of people become teachers: luck of patience, unprofessionalism, dislike for children. Very dissapointed!

it is a great school. It offers the best education.
