I'm thrilled to share our experience with Coeur, Âme et Esprit - Académie Montessori. We truly believe it deserves all the praise. As parents, we explored various daycare options, from "milieu familial" to subsidized and private facilities, and even visited some CPEs. None of them quite met our expectations until we found this gem. Our journey was filled with disappointments - lackluster educational programs, uninspiring leadership, and overwhelmed teachers, which left our child tired and cranky at the end of each day. We discovered Coeur, Âme et Esprit thanks to a friend's recommendation. When we walked in, we knew we had found something special. This daycare checked all the boxes: long hours from 7 am to 6 pm, excellent facilities, dedicated and caring educators, a bilingual curriculum, an excellent academic program, good communication with parents, diverse and healthy meals, fun extracurricular activities like yoga and music, and exciting trips to cultural places. The only downside was the distance from our home, but our child's well-being made it worth getting a Quebec driver's license and a car. Coeur, Âme et Esprit was worth every kilometer. In my experience, leadership and administration are the key to any daycare. When these aspects work well, it spreads positivity throughout the institution. Zoey, the director, drives the Montessori program and teacher training. Marinella, the administrator, ensures everything runs smoothly. And Susana, the cook, is a fantastic chef whose meals are loved by all, especially the children. The teachers are not only knowledgeable but also caring. They use the Montessori approach, and each group has two teachers - one fluent in English and the other in French. Daily reading sessions in the classroom have sparked our 3-year-old's love for books, and it's fantastic to see how much they learn while having fun. The progress is clear from reading to writing, coloring to language skills, critical thinking to general knowledge. Communication with the daycare is crucial since our children spend most of their day there. Coeur, Âme et Esprit uses the Class Dojo app, providing us with daily reports and captivating photos of their activities. We also receive detailed evaluation reports and are always informed about our child's progress. The daycare's physical space is lovely - spacious, well-lit, clean, and thoughtfully furnished. It's organized and peaceful, with plenty of Montessori materials, a cozy library, and a parent area with a restroom. Classrooms have large windows to see what's happening, and the hallways proudly display the children's artwork. Our child has been privileged to visit exciting places like apple picking, sugar shack, the Biodome, children’s museum, train museum, and even a reptile zoo throughout the year. Special external teachers for yoga and music add an extra layer of enrichment, and each child has an instrument for music class. Our child has grown so much at Coeur, Âme et Esprit, and their boundless happiness shows how exceptional the care and education are. We wholeheartedly recommend this daycare to any parent looking for the best for their child.
My 19 month old son started at this daycare a few years back. I wanted to leave a fair and thorough review and waited to compare this daycare with the two other daycares he attended. The appearance of this daycare is very nice, it's spacious and professional looking. My issue is that this daycare is a business and one that really hurt my son's emotional well being. He started off with the babies and it was fine, both his motor and speech abilities were behind those of his age which made it really difficult when he progressed into the next class. He couldn't keep up with the walks and he was frustrated when he couldn't communicate. What was really hurtful was that the class ostracized him, they left him out of circle time and he did his own thing apart from the class. I understand it's difficult for everyone involved. Near the end, I had to hire his own personal shadow while he attended daycare after being given no choice from the owner of this daycare. So double the cost. The owner was sure my son had a disorder which turns out he didn't. He was delayed. I recall her telling me how my son ate with his hands rather than using utensils like the other toddlers. The children walk out of their classes with their hands behind their backs in a line. My son had difficulty following. You can understand how that makes a parent feel. The shadows were lovely girls who would come and watch my son at the daycare. The feedback I got from the girls was alarming, they felt ostracized there as well. And begged me to remove my son from that facility asap. If they left early, the women there whispered loudly behind their backs and made them feel bad. Again, I was paying for both the daycare and the shadow. I didn't have anywhere else to place him on such short notice as I had to work a very demanding job. I found another daycare the following month which was just temporary but it made a world of difference. The owner was very understanding and my son adapted quickly. My biggest regret was not listening to my son's response to the daycare. I wish I had pulled him out right away, as soon as he entered the two other daycares (temporary bridge daycare) and the second one where he stayed till he entered kindergarten, he grew and flourished. On the first day at the new daycare, he had no issues and I was almost in tears. Anyway, for those parents looking for good daycares, I would say listen to your instinct and your child's unspoken words. This daycare was unfortunately not a good fit for me and my son. Thanks for reading.
The best daycare I have ever visited. The director is soo welcoming and the staff is very nice carrying a lot of patience with beautiful gestures. I visited twice here and I had a great experience . Thankyou soo much for giving me this opportunity .
It's a very good place! I know someone that works there and I already went a bunch of times. It's really big and organized. I've seen a few kids grow. I remember seing them when they were 1 year old and seing them almost graduating. They have learned so much! I could see the differences and the staff is really professional!! Would totally recommend
