Hôtel Manoir D'Youville

Rooms are horrible, old, outdated and no tv. Rooms don't even have a bathroom you need to use a community one. Rooms aren't made up in the morning. This is hot a hotel at all. If you like scenery and don't care where you stay fine. You can't control the room temperatures, no AC.

There are two sides to this place: the hotel itself and the surrounding park and heritage structures. The hotel first. The building is old. But, that's okay. Many structures in this country are old and "historic." But, when it is meant to host guests, there are some basic amenities that need to be provided. First off, the room that we were given was like a box with hardly any space around the double bed. It had a stale smell from the moment we entered it. And the room had  no TV, no mini-fridge or no microwave. And, here's the kicker -- it had no air-conditioning! Mind you, this was one of the more expensive rooms that was available. Which meant that we had the immense luxury of getting a private washroom, otherwise we would have to share our washroom with other hotel guests. And on top of that, we were instructed not to run the tap too fast or for too long, otherwise the drainage would overflow. And getting a parking spot is a real challenge at this place. However, I have to give the hotel full points for their breakfast area, its arrangement and the menu. And considering the fact that they serve complimentary breakfast, I would say this hotel is rather reasonably priced. But what blew us away was the park (Lakeside Chàteauguay and Saint Bernard Park) right by the hotel, and the heritage structures around it, including the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, the Cross of Jesus, the Cemetery of the Grey Nuns and the Mill on Saint Bernard Island. There is also a beautiful apple orchard in the area. My wife and I spent a fair bit of time exploring these places.

Nice location beautiful scenery nice place to walk around. But If you are looking for comfortable rooms with air conditioning and bathrooms in the double rooms sadly this is not the place. I wouldn’t consider this place as family friendly since it has no bathrooms in the double rooms and you have to go on a scavenger hunt down the hallway if you need one. All this being said if this review was only about the outdoors of where this hotel is I would give it 4 stars.

Pleasant surprise. So much history, beautiful grounds, trail, unbelievable sunset!! Breakfast buffet had so many options and very clean dining area. Room was small ,private shower and bathroom that was perfect for us. There is no TV in our room but that was fine with us. We always bring cards or hike where we go to spend vacation together. There is a TV room if you do choose to watch TV. The receptionist at 630 on arrival was not all that friendly or happy, but we just moved on. So much to see around the property.

Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) This was my first time staying in a hotel where the bathroom wasn’t inside the room, it was out in the hallway, which was quite inconvenient. I wasn’t expecting that kind of setup, and it really affected my overall comfort. On top of that, there was no air conditioning, just a fan, which made the room uncomfortably warm. While the place may work for some travelers, it definitely wasn’t the experience I was hoping for.

Stay at a cheap motel if you want to save money. Dont arrive at night. Very confusing. Out of date rooms, out of date merchant machines (no tap, then they charged me twice for an "upgrade" to a room with an actual washroom, because most rooms do NOT have their own). Small or no AC units. Hallways have a musky odour, people talking in the hall all night. Rooms are super small, beds are horrible. No TVs. Slow wifi. Had a view of the parking lot.... No where to get food at a convenient time, walls are paper thin...toilets ran all night. Hotel is in a beautiful location which is it's only redeemable feature. Stay away. After a 7 hr drive from Ontario I just wanted to check in and take my medication and watch some tv. Instead got to spend the night trying to figure out how the archaic AC works after a trying check in experience.

The 2 Star rating for this place is actually a complement. Our room had no AC, no TV, no phone, and NO bathroom - just a sink!! Beautiful surroundings, park-like. Nice lobby, excellent breakfast; but the room!! Oh my, oh my!!
