Every time I’m in Montréal, I try to make time to browse Drawn & Quarterly’s beautiful store on rue Bernard. My heart stopped when I walked past Phonopolis to see a yoga studio had replaced it? But I look across the street, and there it is. The city wouldn’t be the same without this bookstore. Long live D&Q, its remarkable selection of books in both French and English, their helpful staff, and their independent spirit .

Although I still stand by everything I mentioned in my original review, I thought I'd also give my opinion on the new space. I was crestfallen when I heard they were closing the original location but at the same time it made sense to me: this "new" space seemed roomier. And I must say it does feel roomier. I don't feel like I'm in everyone's way while I browse which greatly reduces my social anxiety. So even though I was "against" this move and therefore loosing my little haven, I really appreciate this new space. It still exudes all the D&Q vibes I loved about the old place.

I absolutely love visiting this local bookstore. The staff is oh so friendly and helpful. There's a diverse selection in stores and almost anything can be ordered online as well. Prices are the same regular prices you'd find anywhere else but at least you're encouraging the "little guy". I also really appreciate that it's dog friendly since I have trouble going out with mine. I definitely recommend this bookstore!

loved the selection of graphic novels/eng/fr novels! there's a very small zines section, some stickers and prints to check out as well. i picked up a graphic novel from an artist i follow that i didn't even know was published which was a cool find! :0

This was a whirlwind of amazing comic and book selections in both French and English. I could have spent all day here perusing the shelves, chatting with the staff, and admiring the well organized and well curated shelves. If you get a chance to visit, do not miss it and make sure you get your fill of the incredible shelf recommendations.

Our kids love reading books and we make a point to visit a library every time we travel. This time we visited this book store - the kids bookstore is across from this location, and our kids went crazy.
We bought them a book each to take back as souvenirs. The staff was friendly as well.
The prices are a bit higher then online retailers..but, awesome service made up the difference. Thank you !

They have a great selection of graphic novels, fiction and non fiction books for all ages. Their staff is so welcoming and helpful with all questions and queeries one might have when trying to decide. It's also a great place to wander when looking for presents and they offer gift wrapping too!
