We visited the Museum of Illusions Montreal on May 15, 2025, with our grandchildren and had a wonderful time. The exhibits were interactive, creative, and kept both kids and adults fully engaged. It was amazing to watch the children’s reactions—so much laughter, curiosity, and excitement as they explored each illusion.
While we found the admission a bit on the expensive side, the overall experience made it worth it. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the museum was well-organized and clean. It's a great way to spend a few hours and makes for some fantastic photo opportunities.
Highly recommend it for families looking for a unique and entertaining outing in Montreal!

I purchased three tickets on the day of (one senior and two adults). A few hours before our booking still provided many time slots, so you should be okay with same day bookings. It cost slightly under $100.
While the visuals and the displays were really great to experience, the free-roaming for all people in the exhibit made it very chaotic. More popular displays were occupied very quickly, and there's no real way to form any type of line or queue for what you want to try. Kids and families were just zipping around and cutting in front of you to go into certain displays, which was a major disappointment.
There were some very unique and fun illusions, so overall it was a fun experience. We just didn't get to try everything we had wanted. If you booked an earlier time in the morning on the weekend, you'd probably be okay to see everything you wanted; but, make sure you give yourself some time in advance as the front area can get quite crowded as well. They have coat-check but that can also reach maximum occupancy very fast.
They had different wooden puzzles for sale too which made for great gift ideas and conversation pieces to showcase in your home to friends and family. I would definitely recommend this place, just look into going at less-busy times to get the fullest out of your experience.

Very cool experience! The museum was quiet as we went pretty early. One of the exhibitions was closed the room of Illusions. Other than that it was pretty entertaining for the whole family. We really enjoyed both English and French exhibit instructions and explanations. Fun as a family activity or with a group of friends. Good birthday trip!

The Museum of Illusions is an engaging and mind-bending experience that blends art, science, and interactive fun. Perfect for visitors of all ages, the museum invites you to step into a world where perception is challenged at every turn. From mind-boggling optical illusions to immersive, hands-on exhibits, the space is thoughtfully designed to make you question what is real and what is not.
One standout feature is the Room, where you can shrink or grow in size simply by stepping to different parts of the room. The Vortex Tunnel are also crowd favorites, offering an immersive and disorienting experience that’s as entertaining as it is puzzling. Each exhibit is accompanied by explanations, making the visit not only fun but also educational, giving insight into the science behind visual and psychological illusions.
The museum’s layout is compact yet creatively packed with attractions, making it easy to explore in 1 hour. The staff is friendly and eager to enhance your experience, offering tips for capturing the best photos—a must for social media enthusiasts.
Overall, the Museum of Illusions delivers a captivating and memorable experience, combining creativity and curiosity to leave you questioning the limits of your perception.
