Anna’s class is truly topnotch. Spacious and large hot yoga studio. Easy and convenient to book through Class Pass. Can rent everything (towel, mat, mat towel) for $9. Shower is available. Service staff is friendly and nice too. Be prepared for a highly challenging class!
I recently attended a class at Modo. During the session, a teacher named Jocelyn Picard was next to me. He participated in the class like everyone else, but his behavior made the entire experience quite unpleasant. Throughout the class, he kept sighing, seemed irritated, and showed visible impatience, as if he was annoyed by having someone beside him. His attitude was so noticeable that the instructor leading the class had to intervene and remind everyone to accept having people close to them. At the end of the session, when I stood up, he gave me a condescending look, which made me feel very uncomfortable. Since that incident, I haven’t felt like returning to the center. I’ve also noticed that before each class, he places an extra mat next to his own to reserve a spot, which he removes only if no one shows up. This behavior prevents others from taking a place at the front and shows, in my opinion, a lack of consideration for others. In short, I believe that if this teacher finds it so difficult to share space and remain patient, he should refrain from attending classes as a participant. His attitude undermines the welcoming and respectful atmosphere that the center aims to create.
My partner and I were visiting from Italy and decided to try this studio. We hadn't realized it was hot yoga when booking, but once it was apparent we went with it and enjoyed the experience very much. An intense sweating out of toxins while performing beneficial yoga postures, all under the guidance of a calm and capable instructor, Geneviève. I would definitely recommend.
I’ve come here many times for yoga but was really disappointed with todays experience in Hannah Dorozio’s class. The room felt dangerously hot, I checked the temperature on the wall and it was at 45degrees at one point. The other students were also visibility in distress from this. After the class, I overheard that there was a problem with the heating and it couldn’t be adjusted, that the previous class got up to 50degrees. I feel that the instructor should have been transparent about this, perhaps giving a warning before the start of class, leaving the door open, or at least making students feel comfortable to leave if it became too much. This felt like intentionally placing students in a dangerous situation. Instead she did not explain the situation and said that the heat may "bring up feelings and emotions for us, even anger." This felt like gaslighting us for not managing the heat when she was well aware it was too hot and there was an issue with the heating. I usually really enjoy this studio but would not take another one of her classes as I feel that safety and trusting the instructor is a really important part of the practice and her handling of this situation breached that for me.
Excellent hot yoga studio. Clean and very professional. Lockers inside the building, lock available in exchange for your phone or keys. 3$ mat rental. Upstairs above the Jean Coutu.
Been going here for months and love it. Booking through classpass is easy and makes the classes super affordable. My only issues with it is that it’s hard to know how challenging the classes will be each time as there’s so much variety, and they let the classes get so so full sometimes which makes it hard to find mat space and have an enjoyable practice without feeling like you’re going to hit someone with you arm. Otherwise love the space, the instructors and the classes
